Root Water Uptake Patterns for Nitraria during the Growth Period Differing in Time Interval from a Precipitation Event in Arid Regions

چکیده
Vegetation root water uptake is one of the most central transport processes along soil-vegetation-atmosphere interface particularly in (semi-)arid ecosystems. The identification and quantification activities patterns arid vegetation remain challenging. This paper aims at quantitative examination behaviors Nitraria, a prevalent desert species environments, during growth phase via multivariate linear mixed model based on stable isotopes, with main focus time interval from precipitation pulse. observations indicate that events exert periodic significant pulse-effects through direct absorption (contribution almost 75%) activation deep activity certain depth. While occasions without rainfall, Nitraria relies its extremely extensive shallow roots surface-near lateral zone about 60%) to extract massive soil as well hydraulic lifting mechanism survive drought. Achievements would be beneficial enhancing understanding entangled eco-hydrological feedbacks soil-vegetation ecosystems contribute scientific allocation resources consideration ecological protection.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
The Landscape as a Unit for Rangeland Inventory in Arid and Semi-arid Regions of Iran
Severe range degradation was critically extended in many region of Iran and caused many rangelands were restricted and interwoven with croplands in a complex system. Therefore, rangeland planning and inventory as an isolated activity has become almost impossible. Current landscape planning involves contributions of different social organizations often with different interests and with different...

Shortage of water resources and increasing demand to consumption of this scarce resource, leads to somenoticeable limitations. On the other hand, population growth and consequently, increasing demand for water in aridand semi arid regions , needs production in exchange of little amount of water consumption. To approach thisobjective, an experiment in the complete randomized blocks carried out i...
متن کاملTrend analysis and detection of precipitation fluctuations in arid and semi-arid regions
The most important impacts of climate change relate to temperature and precipitation. Precipitation is particularly important, because changes in precipitation patterns may lead to floods or droughts in different areas. Also, precipitation is a major factor in agriculture and in recent years interest has increased in learning about precipitation variability for periods of months to annual and s...
